XXIV Haryana State Chess Championship began at The British School

Garry Kasparov (a famous Russian Chess player) once said, “Chess helps you to concentrate, improve your logic. It teaches you to play by the rules and take responsibility for your actions, how to solve problems in an uncertain environment” The three day XXIV Haryana State Chess Championship 2019- 20 (Girls & Boys) began at The British School, Sector 8, Panchkula. The Championship is being organized by The Chess Association (Panchkula). Over 200 students from 15 states participated in the Chess championship in various categories.
Sh. Vijay Kumar Kapuria, Director Emeritus, J. Secretary –International Brahmrishi Mission graced the occasion as the chief guest. Mr. Harish Kumar and Mr Naresh Sharma, General Secretary Haryana State Chess Association, Mr. Gourav Chabra, Mr. Rajiv Alawat, Mr. Govind and Mr Rajpal Chouhan were present to support in the smooth execution of the event. The students were seen   full of zeal and enthusiasm to perform their best. Speaking on the occasion The School Director Ms. Geetika Sethi emphasized on how Chess positively impacts analytical and logical thinking in children, thus helping them excel in academics.
