The British School, Panchkula celebrated ‘Earth Day‘

Panchkula- The British School, Panchkula celebrated ‘Earth Day ‘on Monday, 22nd April, 2019, to motivate students to become crusaders for saving our Mother Earth. The day began with a special assembly where students pledged to make the earth a greener planet. The Principal Ms. Anita Mehra addressed the students and asked them what efforts they are making towards saving our Mother Earth. Class XI and XII initiated a tree plantation drive in the campus. The students of Kindergarten watered the plants in the school garden with small can in a bid to save water. They sang songs and a small play was enacted to show the importance of water and trees. The School bulletin boards were decorated with posters on various environment conservation methods. The students of class 6 and 7 gave an impressive speech on the 3 R’s- Reduce, Reuse and Recycle. The students pledged to minimize the use of plastic, foil etc. and to keep the school campus clean and green.

The Class educators spoke to the children about the ways to conserve electricity, reduce the carbon footprints and lead an eco-friendly life. The School Director, Mr. Sanjay Sethi ‘Together we can make everyday Earth Day and each one of us in the school can make a difference’.
