The British School Panchkula celebrated Grandparents Day

Panchkula: The students of The British School, Sector-8, Panchkula celebrated Grandparents Day with abundance of respect and joy. The students created handmade cards to invite their grandparents on this wonderful occasion. They extended a traditional welcome to all guests on the day. The program began with an invocation of goddess Saraswati and the children recited the vandana in Sanskrit while translating it into English. The audience was amazed at the confidence with which the children performed this difficult task on the stage. The students of classes 1 & 2 sang and danced to entertain their favourite family members. A quiz was conducted based on what the children learn in school. The grandparents participated with full enthusiasm as if reliving their own school days. Speaking on the occasion the School Director, Mr. Sanjay Sethi said, “With the shrinking size of families, grandparents are often missed the most by children. It is important to sensitize kids about the role of grandparents in one’s life and teach them about respecting and taking care of them in their old age The British School lays emphasis on the emotional bonding of children with their family members and hence this special day was organized to strengthen the unique bond between kids and their grandparents.”
