Blood is precious & there is no replacement of blood, it was said by the chief guest Vandana Gupta Principal Government College Barwala on the occasion of blood donation camp organized today at Govt.PG College, sec-1 Panchkula. Total 95 units of blood was donated by the volunteers.
Mrs. Gupta said the donors that their blood will be used for saving the precious lives. She encouraged the students and insisted them to take part actively in such events in future also. NCC cadets & NSS volunteers actively participated in it & made it a success.
Dr. Archana Mishra, principal of the college said that any healthy student of 18 years or above can donate the blood after a gap of three months. She emphasized that science has proved the harmlessness of proper blood donation.
Dr. Mishra said that due to increase in population as well as no. of accidents, the demand for blood is also increasing day by day, which can be met only by Voluntary Blood Donation. Youth can play a big role in achieving the targets of Voluntary Blood Donation. She also told that now a days, all the components of blood are being used effectively in the treatment of more than one patient.
Mr Kuldeep Thakur , president college alumni Association ,Mr Rakesh Sharma chairman Indian media centre Haryana and its secretary Mr Narendra Singh also present on the occasion and encouraged the volunteers to donate blood.
A team of 7 officials led by Dr. Seema Ghai from Sec. 6 hospital, Panchkula performed their duties efficiently.
NSS coordinator Dr.Kuldeep Ranga, Chitra Tomar Sushila Malik rammehar suchha Singh & other staff members also motivated the students for blood donation.
