Panchkula. The campus of The British School, Panchkula, reverberated with slogans of ‘Jai Hind’ and ‘Vande Matram’ as the school conducted activities related to India’s 70th Republic Day with full zeal. The students took pride in glorifying and celebrating the spirit of unity. To mark the importance of this day, a grand celebration was held in school. The Director, Mr Sanjay Sethi said, “The patriotic fervor of children brings the whole country together even in our essential diversity.” The students of classes 1 and 2 sang a medley of patriotic songs. Aishi Sharma, Vihaan Sharma and Bhavya Bisht eagerly took position on the stage for their performance. The school principal Ms.Anita Mehra wished the students a bright future and expressed the importance of being a true Indian and added that we all should be proud to be Indians. The students of class 3 staged a skit on “Swachh Bharat Abhiyaan” Divyansh ,Rudraksh,Charvi, Devina ,Riddhi and Naisha portrayed people from different regions of India and the way their reposes were same to the street litter and collectively took an oath to keep India Clean. Ompreet , Naman Popli , Samaira put up a skit on National Integration. They were ably assisted by Viha Srivastava and Vipul Kumar. The Director- Principal Ms. Geetika Sethi urged the students to respect all religions and make India a strong and united Nation. The children and staff relished the sweet that were shared during the celebration. The whole school echoed with patriotic fervor as the children drew scenes of Republic Day celebrations, sang patriotic songs, ate tri- colour tiffins and had their faces proudly painted in national colours. They even wore tri coloured clothes to mark the occasion.
