The national award winner director, Vishal Bhardwaj’s forthcoming project Rangoon is set in the same period as Casa Blanca against the backdrop of World War II,  a musical treat, very little of this is captured in any of our recent films and literature! And we also hear that Kangana Ranaut plays the role of an actress, much on the lines of Fearless Nadia. In a statement to The Times of India, Vishal said, “This journey consists of many firsts — it’s my first collaboration with Sajid Nadiadwala and Viacom18 Motion Pictures and it’s the first time the three lead actors are coming together.” Sajid added, “I am very excited to present the trailer to the audience. Vishal is an incredible director and one will get to experience a plethora of emotions as his vision translates on the big screen.” The film will hit the marquee on February 24.

National Award-winning singer Sukhwinder Singh says the music of Vishal Bhardwaj’s directorial Rangoon is very opera-like. Talking about Bhardwaj, the talented singer said: “The best thing about Vishal Bhardwaj is that he himself is a writer, director and composer. The main content in the movie is the story, and the same way, composition is the main content in a film’s music… And Vishal has a great command on both of them.”

On the music of Rangoon, the singer had said: “It is extraordinary and very imaginative. The film director is the composer, so all his songs are a demand of story — they are not pushed into the movie. He is a fantastic music composer.”
