FPA Panchkula organized Rally on “Family Planning: Empowering People, Developing Nations.”

ffTo mark World population day the FPA India Panchkula Branch organized a Rally on the theme “Family  Planning: Empowering People, Developing Nations.” on 11th July 2017. Rally start from Labour Chowk,  Sector 17 Panchkula to Buddan Pur via Rajiv Colony and Indira colony. A street play was also conducted  at Anganwadi centre Buddanpur after rally. There was a huge gathering during street play. The people  were educated on the theme and information related to services of FPA India Panchkula Branch was also given.
Mr. Vinod Kapoor President FPA India Panchkula Branch spoke about Women’s Rights. He said that women  have the right to get education, freedom, and right to adopt family planning methods, equal right in  property, and right to marriage at right time. He urged the community to do something to protect  girl’s rights. He also stressed on the need to plan their family life span by making choice in the  number of children and appropriate spacing between the children and adopt safe methods in consultation
with their doctors.
Mr. Manoj Garg General Manager said annual celebration of world population day is planned with lots of  activities and events to make aware people about the reality. He told that Through this great awareness   celebration, people are encouraged to take part in the event to know about population issues like importance of family planning towards the increasing population, gender equality, maternal health,
poverty, human rights, right to health, sexuality education, use of contraceptives and safety measures like condoms, reproductive health, adolescent pregnancy, girl child education, child marriage, sexually transmitted infections and so many. He also told that Sexuality related issues are very necessary to get solved among youths especially between 15 to 19 years of age as according to the statistics it is
noted that around 15 million women of this age give birth every year as well as around 4 million go through for abortion.
