DC Model Senior Sec. School, Panchkula marked the beginning of new session by organising a blood donation camp in the school premises. The school kept the tradition alive and intact by conducting it for the 20th time where parents, staff and other volunteers donated blood enthusiastically. A medical team from PGI helped assist the donors through the whole process. DCM Group of Schools has always been in the forefront of social causes. Mr. BB Gupta, the Director of the school always believes that a single unit of blood donated is three lives saved. He took the initiative and apprised every one of the benefits related to blood donation which serve the society in a variety of forms. The camp began at 9 am with the philanthropic contribution by Mr. Kunal sharma who felt proud to be the first donor. Mrs. Nisha, a donor from school staff did not miss the opportunity of serving the society with her noble donation. Around 140 people registered themselves, out of which 110 were able to donate as the donors went through series of check-ups before donating blood. The donors were given refreshments and certificates of appreciation for their service to humanity. The Principal, Mrs. Usha Gupta and Coordinator, Mrs. Deepika extended their heartfelt gratitude to each and every donor who came forward and contributed whole heartedly towards this gracious cause. Everyone present there felt proud to be the part of an organization that helped those in need of it. The Medical team thanked the school for organising such camps and spreading awareness among the people and society at large. Mr. BB Gupta in return acknowledged everyone for the support and further declared that the school will always come forward for such programs to help the society in future also.
