Cleanliness Drive held at DC Model School

Panchkula: A drive, ‘God’s Own Country, Clean Country’ was organized in the premises of DC Model Sr. Sec. School to teach students healthy habits and the importance of cleanliness. Students of classes Pre- Primary to 10th went around cleaning the school premises and at the same time educating others about the importance of keeping their surroundings clean. Various activities to promote cleanliness were conducted in the school premises. Students of  different classes participated in Role play activity that delivered the message of keeping the surroundings clean which will help in keeping the environment clean. Students participated enthusiastically in the drive and tided up their classrooms. A rally was carried out by the students around the school spreading the message of cleanliness. Through banners and posters, students not only conveyed the message of cleanliness but also organized lectures briefing people about clean toilet practices. Not only the students but their teachers also participated in the school programme to make it a success. The drive aimed at inculcating the spirits of hygiene, cleanliness
and aversion to unhygienic conditions among children from the initial years of their schooling. Through these activities, children learnt the values of   Dignity of Labour and Team Spirit. Director, BB Gupta, appreciated the efforts of the children, staff and parents who took the initiative to come forward for the noble cause. The Vice- Principal, Mrs. Sarika said that the responsibility of keeping school clean belongs to all of us and not just the custodian staff. The coordinator, Mrs. Deepika praised the teachers and students for maintaining discipline during the whole activity. The day ended with the pledge in which students vowed to maintain cleanliness in and around school.
